I downloaded a simple iPhone application called Gratitude over a week ago. It gives you a personal journal to encourage you to list daily 5 things that you are thankful for, rate your day (1 to 5) and post a picture for the day. Yet it does so much more.
At first it was out of the ordinary for me and I had to think a bit harder to list five new things. Soon after, I started going through the days and noticing so much more than before.
I am committed to mark the days as 5. I realize to mark it less than that would be a sign of ungratefullness for every blessing to God. I also believe that bad moments rarely outweigh the good moments in a day. If we were to list the bad and good moments/blessings in a day and give them all one point each, the good will win the race.
To live another day is a blessing. To have the opportunity to see and spend time with loved ones is a blessing. To see them laugh and see another day is a blessing. To even chat with wonderful friends for a few minutes is a blessing.
To work, play, laugh, and even cry are signs of blessings. For to cry for something, must mean the sorrow of missing a blessing.
I truly recommend the practice of a gratitude journal (in any format) to anyone. In all its simplicity, it’s a wonderful practice for us all to find or achieve a higher level of inner peace.

Loba – Thank you for this blog. I was just thinking about writing my first blog, trying to assess my “feeling tone,” feeling the grayness of winter inside. Feeling sorry for myself.
Then I happened on your blog and have changed my perspective. I don’t know who you are; certainly, you don’t know me, but I know my day will be different because of you. Thanks for bringing me back.
Namaste.
