Freedom

Merriam-Webster defines freedom as “the quality or state of being free” and “the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action”. Although the definition may seem simple to comprehend, the concept is still abused and misused day after day, everywhere.

Freedom in no means entitles anyone to challenge, violate or dismiss other people’s rights. However that doesn’t seem to be taken into consideration these days. It’s a dog eat dog world and governments, corporations, unions and people of all ages will choose as they please with no regards to the ones they hurt.

Unfortunately, though freedom to do as willed, should not be free of consequences; they are usually dismissed or worse not even accounted for. Of course, it is hoped that our conscience will deter wrong doings and steer us to the right path. If not, I strongly believe that acts solely based on self-interest will never be permanent.

Sometimes when you win, you will still eventually lose.
