To apologize is a disgrace!

How hard is to say sorry? I wonder. I’ve been wondering this for quite some time and now I’m rather enraged. To be moral, ethical and have common sense are things of the past. The current attitude is rather different.

It’s more in the lines of: “So? What’s your point? No one owes anyone anything and I certainly don’t need to apologize to you! Why should I stoop down and actually admit that I’m wrong? Who are you for me to apologize?” Maybe this is all a sense of how God fearing people must be to think they are the centre of this universe. “Forget the sun! Revolve around me!!!!!”

This attitude drives me up the walls to the point that the sound of scratching my nails across a black board would soothe me. However, I must admit that I still SOMEHOW find it amusing.

Have we become so full of ourselves that a mere acceptance of being wrong is a disgrace to our being? Do we think we’re perfect and never mistakes? And when we do make mistakes, is there so much shame in admitting? Were we brought up this way or is this a new trend? Will it go away like bell-bottoms did, or is it here to stay?

I certainly hope that this trend/fashion/fad or whatever you call it goes away as soon as possible and never ever comes back. To apologize is to admit of one’s imperfections. So let’s just stop for a moment and apologize for our wrong doings and hope that the people we have wronged will find it in their hearts to forgive us. Maybe this way we can find an ounce of humility in ourselves to apologize to God and seek forgiveness, and maybe just maybe look deep within ourselves and find peace and admit that WE ARE NOT PERFECT!

I’ve just been skimming through your articles. Wonderful to read.

This post is excellent as well. If more people would think like this, ours would be a far more beautiful world. =)

    Peace be upon you.
